From humble beginnings in 1972, our success has been achieved on the back of a determined approach to ensure the consistent delivery of high quality services.
This valued reputation has opened doors for us to expand into new markets, whilst along the journey entrenching ourselves within the economic and social fabric of a modern Papua New Guinea.

Since the formation of L&A Bricklayers Pty Ltd (later known as L&A Construction Ltd) in 1972, we have been considered as one of the pioneers in the advancement of the construction industry in Papua New Guinea.
Due to our growth and the need to be able to market each business unit independently in its marketplace, our operations were restructured into the LAD Group of companies and consist of the following companies ;

  • Minpac Construction Ltd – Construction
  • Fabworx Ltd – Steel Fabrication
  • X Trade Solutions Ltd – Plumbing, Joinery, Electrical & Maintenance
  • Bedrock Ltd – Plant & Equipment Hire

The LAD Group of Companies is under the stewardship of Sir Luciano Cragnolini. Sir Luciano arrived in PNG from Italy in 1967. His very first job was working on the first stage of the construction of the University of Papua New Guinea in Waigani.
Alongside his business achievements, he has contributed to many community initiatives over the years which led to his bestowal of the;

  • “ Paul Harris Fellow ” from the Rotary International Club

  • “ Order of the Logohu “ from the Governor General of PNG

  • Knighthood Bachelor award where he attended an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace to receive his Knighthood from Prince Charles.

Sir Luciano is also Chairman of National Capital District Building Board and the National Capital District Liquor Licensing Board. Sir Luciano has the support of his two sons, Adriano Cragnolini and Damon Cragnolini who actively manage the day to day operations in accordance with the long established core values of the family business.
